The Hantai Tamago is a delicious egg soft-boiled in the waters of Tsuru-no-yu hot spring. It's sold only in Hirayu Onsen. One egg costs ¥100 and you'll most certainly regret it if you don't try one before heading home. The yolk is firm, but the white is soft. Its wonderful taste comes from the Tsuru-no-yu hot spring source. The waters of this hot spring have a slightly salty taste, which gives the eggs their delicious salty flavor. Once you try one, you'll be hooked forever. They're a perfect addition to your evening meal.
